Explore the ruin of an ancient civilization said to know the secret of eternal life. Collect various upgrades, including a dash that imprints an echo of your past, which has various uses. Will you leave your past behind, and escape a wiser man?
A Metroidvania made for Metroidvania Month 24, with the theme Echoes of the Past.
Playable with keyboard or controller.
16-06: 1.0a update:
*Various tweaks to the Overcharged Sentry. Most importantly, his beam attack now behaves like an attack, not like a hazard, meaning it respects iframes and does not relocate you.
*Fixed a bug that caused the music to stop during the final boss sequence.
Controls:
Arrows / dpad / control stick: Move, Look up/down
Z / W/ the bottom button on your controller: Jump
X/the left button on your controller: Attack
C / the right trigger or bumper on your controller: Dash
A / the right button on your controller: Charge
E/Enter/I/Start/Select: Pause menu

I like it. I'm also being just demolished by that stupid rat, which is hard to get close enough to attack and which keeps jumping on top of me. (I can't tell if I'm missing something or just need to get better.)
You don't need any specific powerup to beat him, but some optional upgrades can definitely help! The Echo Parry upgrade from the shop in the central area can do a lot of damage to him if you use it to dash away from his grounded attack and then jump over him. Good luck!
